Many moons ago, I worked as a travel agent. I had a fabulous time traveling around the world and taking pictures of just about anything that represented a destination's culture. My globetrotting days came to an end when I decided to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
On an unusually warm day in December 2001, I was walking on the Boston Common with my camera ready to capture the beautiful city sights surrounding me. There were creative pictures waiting to be taken everywhere I looked! I wondered, how many of these photo opportunities go unnoticed by locals and visitors? Suddenly, inspiration struck! I am going to start a photo walking tour business in Boston: one that provides historical commentary and creative photography tips. And that's how PhotoWalks began... with an idea and a passion for capturing creative pictures.
That day in the park changed my life. I had no idea where my entrepreneurial dream was going to take me and prepared myself for an adventurous journey. On May 1, 2002, PhotoWalks was launched with only 2 tours. In 2005, Random House published my book, Boston in Photographs. Today, there are 6 tours, Photo Scavenger Hunts and Photo Workshops on the PhotoWalks calendar.
The PhotoWalks concept has received 5 star rave reviews on Trip Advisor and extensive media coverage. Each year I have many new and memorable experiences. My greatest joy is meeting so many wonderful people from all over the world. We meet as strangers and bond after touring Boston for less than two hours.
As a professional photographer with over 15 years of experience photographing people, weddings, special occasions and the nooks and crannies of villages, towns and cities around the world, I'd like to share my experiences and show you how to see and think creatively through photography. As observant photographers, we gain a deeper appreciation for our surroundings--resulting in empowering, eye-opening experiences that are life-changing.
Thank you for visiting the PhotoWalks website. Hope to see you on tour!
